President’s Commission on White House Fellowships
Commissioner
Founded in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, the White House Fellowships is a non-partisan program that encourages exceptional young Americans to enter public service. The select individuals spend a year in Washington, D.C., working as full-time, paid Fellows aiding Cabinet Secretaries, senior White House executives, and other ranking government officials.

The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by Executive Order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our Nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. The Presidential Scholars Medallion is the Nation's highest honors for high school students, and the Scholars represent excellence in education and the promise of greatness in young people.
